Levern Hall, 60, of Bridgeport, was killed around 6:30 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 4, in Stratford, Connecticut State Police said.
An investigation found that Hall was attempting to cross the highway near Exit 32 in Stratford.
An initial investigation found that Meriam Jones, 57, of Stratford, was driving a southbound when Hall attempted to run towards the right shoulder of the southbound side of the highway and was struck by her car.
Hall was pronounced dead at the scene, state police said.
Jones was transported to Bridgeport Hospital for possible injuries and evaluation.
State police did not say why Hall was attempting to cross the busy highway.
The incident remains under investigation.
